In view of the increasing spend by businesses across verticals on cloud computing, it is estimated that 50% of all software sales will eventually be in the Cloud domain. Add to this, the growth in spending that is expected to hover around 19% CAGR between 2019 and 2024. Notwithstanding the current blip in the radar owing to disruptions caused by the pandemic, growth in cloud platforms and related services is going to increase in the coming years.

Global Salesforce Talent Demand:
Translating this growth in business in to headcount growth, an estimated workforce of 4.2mn will be needed to fulfill the growing demand for Salesforce professionals between 2018 and 2024. This means, there will be an annual requirement of 700K Salesforce professionals globally – across enterprise Salesforce, partner ecosystem and ISVs working with Salesforce. The number for 2020 stands at ~520K professionals.
Industry View:
The Manufacturing sector along with Financial Services are expected to drive the growth. Estimated requirement of professionals in these two sectors during the period is 765K and 720K respectively. That means an annual hiring opportunity of 126K and 121K Salesforce professionals globally in these two sectors.
Geographic View:
Projected Salesforce talent need in the US (largest market) is ~900K, followed by India (550K) and Brazil (491K). In Europe major talent demand will come from The UK, Germany, Netherlands and France. Put together, these countries will account for an estimated 400K professionals between 2019 and 2024.
