The Client is a global supplier of Engineering, Technical Recruitment and IT services to customers in the Aerospace, Industrial and the Government sectors. Starting out in the 1950s, it today employs more than 10,000 professionals across 55 locations worldwide and ranks among the top 5 engineering firms in the United States. The company’s operations is organized into 4 major Business Units – Engineering Services, Technical Recruiting, Government Services and Additive Manufacturing.
To augment its capabilities, the company has executed a spate of acquisitions over the past 2 years, both at home as well as abroad. The company counts the Department of Defense (DARPA), the Department of State, and the Department of Energy as its top Government-sector customers. The company also boasts of a strong presence in the Aerospace, Aviation Engine, and Construction Equipment OEM space.
In March 2016, the Client inaugurated its Design Centre.
The win, a shot in the arm for Avance Consulting, was also consistent with the aim of expansion of its operations in Germany. While Avance Consulting was already committed to support the Client in their sourcing efforts across roles, this contract paved the way for consolidating its presence in the local market.
Native/German-speaking recruiters were appointed who were responsible for the smooth delivery of services. The recruiters worked both Onsite (Client premises) as well as at Avance’s local offices in Germany. To support its onshore team, Avance Consulting pressed in to service, its Research Team in India. While the offshore team in India was responsible for research and sourcing quality resumes, the onshore team was responsible for candidate evaluation and assessment.
Having a delivery model with both onshore and offshore components provided Avance Consulting with an edge – the presence of the onshore team facilitated tapping in to local candidate networks, job events and also provided access to industry events, which made its job easier.
The still-ongoing contract, spread over a period of time, envisages that Avance Consulting works exclusively with the Client till all the positions are closed. This involves providing a full spectrum of recruitment services – from sourcing candidates to screening to assessing role and culture fitment, to scheduling client interviews and managing client expectations.
It involved a great deal of interaction with the Client, both at the Practice as well as the Delivery levels.
Avance had direct access to the business leaders as well as the hiring team. A mechanism of continuous feedback was put in place.
Fulfilling client mandate in a tough market
The Client was able to fill permanent positions in a market driven predominantly by contractual roles. The team had access to the Client’s internal systems which provided the much-needed impetus to deliver services keeping the time-frame in mind.
Facilitated & enabled a focused approach
The Client could use its their internal recruitment teams for value-added work such as scheduling and conducting interviews.
On-time delivery
Time was a critical challenge for the Client. Avance Consulting ensured timely on-boarding of resources resulting in streamlining of internal processes and savings on cost.
