The Client is a global supplier of Engineering, Technical Recruitment and IT services to customers in the Aerospace, Industrial and the Government sectors. Starting out in the 1950s, it today employs more than 10,000 professionals across 55 locations worldwide and ranks among the top 5 engineering firms in the United States. The company’s operations is organized into 4 major Business Units – Engineering Services, Technical Recruiting, Government Services and Additive Manufacturing.
To augment its capabilities, the company has executed a spate of acquisitions over the past 2 years, both at home as well as abroad. The company counts the Department of Defense (DARPA), the Department of State, and the Department of Energy as its top Government-sector customers. The company also boasts of a strong presence in the Aerospace, Aviation Engine, and Construction Equipment OEM space.
In March 2016, the Client inaugurated its Design Centre.
The Client was working on a critical e-Commerce project for a major British Multinational fashion retailer (end-customer). It wanted to hire a team of technology specialists with niche skills to join the project service delivery team.
The Client needed resources with experience ranging between 10 and 20 years in technologies such as Demandware, Endeca, WCS, Infoplus Commerce, UI with Handlebar and ES6. These contractual positions were to be closed within a time span of 3-4 weeks.
The Client faced dual challenges of skill shortage (niche skills) and a tight turnaround time.
The Account Management Team at Avance Consulting started by gaining a complete and thorough understanding of the roles to be filled. A market mapping exercise was undertaken to match the job roles and the candidates’ skill areas. Assessing the candidates was a crucial aspect of the engagement to ensure skills and culture match – worked with the Client to prepare a Common Assessment Framework to assess the suitability of each candidate.
Avance Consulting led the end-to-end service delivery and was responsible for Candidate Experience journey – from sourcing & screening to interview scheduling, offer management and joining.

In an very competitive market, speed was the need of the hour. Avance Consulting ensured that the Client was able to start the project on time, thus avoiding time and cost overruns.
Project expansion
Successfully provided the right set of talent to the Client which in turn helped it win a bid for project expansion. This translated in to another opportunity for Avance Consulting to expand its relationship with the Client with a requirement for additional resources.

He has worked in the media and entertainment industry with focus on video games, animation and advertising across India and UK. He had a successful exit from his first few start-ups, Octoplus Entertainment (video-games and animation); and PhoneSpots (mobile advertising).
Pravin is onto his 3rd venture, Avance Consulting, which is in the field of HR and Talent Solutions. Avance has operations in over 10 countries with a team size of 700 people and is rated as one of the top technology staffing companies in Europe. He is also an active investor in start-ups, especially, in early-stage companies. He has invested in over 10 different companies in the field of Ad-tech, HR-tech, and Reg-tech. He is passionate about start-ups and scaling up.
